Position: Community Manager

Local Office is a new shared workspace and coworking business in the West University/Rice Village neighborhood of Houston set to open in the Fall of 2017. Local Office combines beautifully designed private offices with open coworking space to provide modern office solutions for small businesses, freelancers, startups, and other independent workers.
We are hiring our inaugural community manager to help us launch and manage the business this coming fall. Prior to opening we want to engage the community manager to become familiar with the shared workspace industry and to build awareness of the business by running an effective social media campaign leading up to our opening.
The community manager is the primary on-the-ground manager who oversees the day-to-day operations of the business. This includes monitoring and maintaining the space and the community, as well as the financial health of the business.
General Responsibilities
- Grow and maintain a strong membership and lease-up rate
- Ensure that the membership experience is curated to the highest level
- Cultivate a strong sense of community
- Manage the key drivers of financial success
Specific Responsibilities
- Respond to membership inquiries- in person, online, and on the phone
- Regularly provide tours of the space and explain the offerings to prospective members
- Communicate regularly with members about their business needs
- Develop, plan, and run member events
- Maintain the website and make changes on an ongoing basis
- Develop social media strategy to drive traffic to the site and the space
- Monitor membership management software
- Manage membership onboarding process
- Troubleshoot and solve member problems
- Monitor and maintain the physical space (desk, chairs, table, coffee, snacks, etc)
- Manage billing process and generate weekly and monthly reports
- Ability to think entrepreneurially to solve problems in unique ways and to develop new systems and processes
Qualifications
- Empathetic extrovert who likes to work with people
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and attentive to details
- Independent-minded and self motivated
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
- Hospitality experience
- Marketing experience
- Customer service experience
- Education: Bachelor’s
- Work experience: Min. 3-5 years
Full Time, With Benefits
Salary: $30,000-$45,000 depending on experience
